Axis Innovation has been hosting its annual startup conference, Axis Tel Aviv, since 2014. Now in its 11th year, Axis has evolved from a small boutique agency to become a respected player in the Israeli and international startup ecosystem. Axis Tel Aviv stands out as one of Israel's most effective events for dealmaking, featuring international investors and speakers, limited attendees, and high-quality content and networking opportunities. But behind its success lies the people who drive it forward.
Ed Frank, Founder and CEO, has been a driving force in the venture capital and technology incubation landscape since his arrival in Israel from the US over 25 years ago. With a track record of pioneering custom software solutions head of Industry Solutions Demantra prior to an exit to Oracle and creating the corporate VC division at IDT Corporation, Ed co-founded Axis Innovation. Here, he has guided startups to global success through strategic partnerships and funding, leaving an enduring legacy of growth and prosperity. Beyond his professional endeavors, Ed is a devoted family man, relishing quality time with his wife, Sharon, and indulging in his passions of biking and karate.
Jason Weiss, Co-founder and Dealflow Manager at Axis Innovation, brings a wealth of experience in startup ecosystems, venture partnerships, and strategic initiatives. He plays a pivotal role in overseeing all dealflow operations and working closely as an advisor to startup founders, helping dozens of startups secure partnerships and over 20 startups secure funding with international investors. In addition to his role at Axis, Jason recently co-founded GoCandles, a premium scented candle brand for entrepreneurs and scent enthusiasts. Known for his boundless energy, Jason is a dynamic force both in his professional pursuits and family life. With three small kids, Jason and his family embarked on an adventurous move from Israel to California, reflecting their bold approach to life. “When, if not now?”, - Jason says. His enthusiasm extends beyond the workplace, as he orchestrates unforgettable parties for his children, infusing every moment with creativity and joy.
Darina Khanina, Principal Business Development, leverages her expertise in business development and international relations to foster strong relationships between startups, investors, and corporations. Passionate about the global startup ecosystem, she plays a pivotal role in events like Axis Tel Aviv and fosters connections for entrepreneurs on a global scale. Darina's journey with Axis began in 2018 when she joined as an intern through the MASA program, captivated by Israel's dynamic startup ecosystem and deciding to make it her home. Now an indispensable member of the Axis team, Darina, along with her husband Dmitri and daughter Mira, explores both Israel and the globe.
Charli Stonefield, Analyst, joined Axis a year and a half ago, quickly integrating into the team with her intelligence and skills. Originally from London, Charli found herself captivated by Tel Aviv's vibrant atmosphere and forged lasting friendships. Despite being separated from her family and beloved rottweiler back in London, Charli has truly found her place in Israel, where her passion for the city and its culture shines through.
With such a small team comprising individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, Axis Innovation has persevered through challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Israel. Despite these obstacles, we remain strong, continuing to organize outstanding events and projects.
This is the Axis Innovation core team. We also have international partners: Dixon Doll, Deborah Rosenberg, and David Talmor working for us and advising from different places of the world.
We invite you to meet us in person on May 21st at the Axis Tel Aviv conference, where we will bring together top Israeli tech startups, global investors, and corporations. It's an opportunity not only to network and discover exciting opportunities, but also to witness firsthand the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines our company.
Projects are longer-term assignments that encourage students to apply their learning to real-world situations or complex problems. These assignments may involve research, data collection, creative design, or the development of a practical solution. Project assessments evaluate a student’s ability to integrate multiple concepts, write me an assignment time effectively, and present findings or results in a coherent manner. Collaboration and independent work may both be required, depending on the project’s scope and objectives.
It's inspiring to hear about Ed Frank's journey and the impact he's had on the Israeli startup scene. His track record of success speaks volumes about his expertise in venture capital and technology incubation. snake game
