Building a World-Class International Financial Centre and Spearheading Technology Innovation for Financial Services Industry

Roy heads the Financial Centre Development Department in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The department supports the growth of Singapore as an international financial centre through nurturing an attractive and conducive business environment for financial institutions, and deepening Singapore’s position as a pan-Asian banking hub. The department fosters key strategic activities and capabilities that contribute to these objectives. He also leads the FinTech ecosystem development work at MAS. The team’s efforts are focused on connecting, collaborating, and cocreating with the FinTech and financial services to grow Singapore’s financial sector and to foster a conducive environment for innovation to flourish. He led the team that put together the Singapore FinTech Festival that brings together a series of distinct FinTech events. The Festival in 2016 was well-received with more than 13,000 registered participants from 60 countries. Roy graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Computer Science. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
